Screen Printing Adventures

I’ve recently started an evening screen-printing course at Inverlochy Art School.  We’ve had two classes so far – in the first, we learned how to get our image onto a screen using the photographic emulsion process, then in the second we learned how to print a two-colour image using our screens.

I wasn’t very prepared for the first class as I’d only realised it was running a few days before it started, so I ended up doing a quick kokako sketch at  the school and using that for my first screen.

I printed this family of kokako using my screen.

I’m having so much fun learning this new process, and am brimming with ideas of different ways I can use it! I’ll be bringing some screen-printed items to the Craft Central market on October 3rd, so come and see me there if you’re in Wellington!

That’s an awesome print!! Love the pop of colour and handdrawn look. Gorgeous!

Thanks so much, it’s great to hear that people like it. I like the hand-drawn quality, too 🙂
